Elana is a compassionate and insightful psychologist committed to building authentic and meaningful therapeutic connections with her clients. She takes pride in building a relationship that ensures clients feel respected, understood, validated, and empowered throughout their journey. Central to her approach is the belief that therapy should be a collaborative process, with clients being recognised as experts in their own experiences. With a wealth of experience, Elana adeptly navigates the intricate landscape of human emotions, thoughts and behaviour.

Elana is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, holding a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) degree and a Master of Forensic Psychology degree, both awarded at the University of New South Wales. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Forensic Psychologists. Elana has over 18 years experience in both the public and private sectors.

Elana's expertise spans a diverse range of environments, having provided psychological treatment to offenders in prison as well as to mentally ill patients in hospital settings. In her current private practice, Elana works with adults experiencing a range of life’s challenges, including but not limited to; anxiety related issues, mood disorders, relationships challenges, parenting challenges, problematic substance use and anger-related issues. Due to her experience with forensic clients, she is also comfortable assisting those that may have found themselves with legal concerns and matters before court.

Elana has a particular interest in trauma-focused work, with clients who may have experienced trauma and/or dysfunctional relationships in their childhood, but are looking to shed the patterns of the past, to create meaningful and healthy relationships in their adult lives.

Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are two types of therapeutic interventions which Elana utilises. (see Treatment Section for more information)
